Nothing will happen this year. I would hope that the outlook might not be quite that gloomy and we can maybe get back towards going to gigs in the autumn but that's probably as good as it's going to get. I've got a load of gigs booked for the next few months which I'm just to be postponed and I just don't see festival season happening at all.

I hope I am totally wrong but I have booked nothing this year. No gigs or holidays and conditioned myself to the fact nothing will happen in 2021 and if anything it could be harder than 2020. Sorry to be so ‘gloomy’ but that’s my feeling.

I think there are enough indications to allow some careful optimism for let's say second half of summer - December. Not completely normal as if nothing has happened, but something should be possible I hope

If you don't build yourself up looking forward to certain things then you're not going to be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Although I've bought tickets for quite a lots of things (although the majority were for gigs which had been announced pre-pandemic) I'll see it is as a bonus if I can go to anything much this year.

Just had an email confirming Creation Day Festival in Wolverhampton has been cancelled for this year with tickets rolling over to next year's festival (29-30th May 2022). They said they're hoping to keep the majority of the line-up but as yet nothing is confirmed. Hopefully Editors will be there next year!

Ah I hadn’t bought tickets yet but was hoping they may move it to late summer, I guess it has a lot more chance of happening next year so makes sense I guess

I know some festivals are pushing their dates back to Autumn but I guess just moving it back to next year is less risk and there is more chance of the same bands being available for then. Obviously I knew it was going to be postponed or cancelled but still a bit disappointing as it was probably the only chance of seeing Editors this year. Just one of those things though.

Rock Werchter seems to have concrete plans to move to September, with a scaled down version of the festival with no big American artists. And Tom said this in an interview recently:
ok maybe that's just some wishful thinking/daydreaming but hey who knows... even though I think Editors were booked for Pukkelpop 2020, that might have an influence idk

Basically just means touring will be a lot more expensive because of visas and stuff, think they may even have to fill out paperwork for every instrument...? Will make touring Europe unprofitable for small bands

From their statement: so... still hopeful. It was obvious the actual festical wasn't going to happen in July anyway.

Are the two Spanish dates still on?
Why does no one update the official page, BG has long since been released, the UK festival is cancelled, no news in over a year, though i relaise the band are on down time, but still..... its woeful
