I quite like it, but you can hear its meant to have a synth to go along with it (I think). It sounds a bit like Nothing unplugged.
But I like the vibe and the chorus! Really looking forward to this album and of course to see more of this unplugged show!

Sometimes I don't have a clue, sometimes I heard something different (doesn't mean it's right), sometimes I agree. So let's puzzle - that's fun. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out we aren't even close Forgiveness makes fools of all (of the hearts??) Alone to feel so hard stop play some more but speaks ain't coming ---- problem is: that doesn't make sense... It would, if he had lost his lines already there, but since he is repeating "ain't coming" in his efforts to remember, I don't think so. Maybe it's peace instead of speaks Out of words.... aaargh.... The first line of the prechorus is hard enough.
A friend of mine thinks: "Like the sound it droned through everyone."
After that, it sounds like: "A flag in your hand don't make you American" (or even possible "America") to me
Maybe you are on the right track sleeptwitch, if we change drown to drawn it kinda makes sense.
"Like the sun ain't drawn for everyone" is a perfect sentence to say if someone makes a racist remark.
"A flag in your hand don't make you American" - you can't just hold a flag and be proud of your country, be a good citizen first
Maybe the overall message is something like: forgiveness makes fools of all of us because it stops people from trying to be a good person (they're just counting on forgiveness). You have to be a good person first, then earn forgiveness.
I don't know.

Wow, I'm impressed - thumbs up A mentality like: it's easier to ask for forgiveness later than to ask for permission in the first place... - yes, seems to fit. But it's not exactly "US-friendly", is it? Kind of surprises me after Nashville

If you slow down the song (I used VLC media player) it becomes easier to understand the words. The first verse of the pre-chorus seems "The light of the sun ain´t drawn for everyone", which seems a bit off. The first verse is still confusing, though.
