the dechrisified version of THS is a shadow of its former self and I miss the original but not the newer version
Rather hear something like LYGHLYH

I don't really get the concept behind this "best of" tour though, just heard the short interview with Russell on Studio Brussel and he said that they are planning to play all their singles. Isn't this what they've always done over the last few years (besides some album tracks related to the specific tour cycle)? I would rather hear some songs they have not played in a while: When Anger Shows, Escape the Nest, Spiders, Walk The Fleet Road, Two Hearted Spider, Marching Orders, etc.
the same for me....When Anger Shows/Camera/A life as a Ghost/Like treasure/Bones/The Boxer/....and many more

yeah Russell said "singles and fan favourites" but I think those 2 are not the same set of songs at all haha
Let Your Good Heart... would be great, the acoustic version maybe? Also adding another vote for When Anger Shows, Escape The Nest and A Life as a Ghost, and Two Hearted Spider but the Werchter 2012 version, that was the best one. and Fingers, it remains a mystery to me why they don't play Fingers more often these days
too bad we're not actually voting

I'm hoping for an acoustic section with reference to the disc of acoustic recordings. Walk The Fleet Road and Two Hearted Spider would be great!

Probably going to Antwerp, Düsseldorf, and The Hague! The marketing / interview push for this (as is the case for all greatest hits tours) is to bring back / entice the fans that have fallen by the wayside. The quotes / media isn't really aimed at us loyal lot but more at those that have spotted a greatest hits release / tour and think "I remember how much I loved them back in 2005/2007 maybe it's worth meeting up with my old mates and going to see them again". By booking the big venues the label must think this strategy will work, and I hope it does. It's ironic really because if they'd "split up" for 5 years and then suddenly announced a "re-union" tour like some bands do then they'd undoubtedly sell out the bigger venues so let's hope they're not punished for continuously chipping away else they might go down the split-up / re-union route for a sales boost in the future!

yeah Russell said "singles and fan favourites" but I think those 2 are not the same set of songs at all haha Lets start the simple highly inaccurate and unscientific math: TBR - Blood, Bullets, Munich, All Sparks = 4
AEHAS - Smokers, TRR, AEHAS, PHTTA, Bone(ltd) = 4 (5)
ITL - Papillon, YDKL, ERM = 3
TWOYL - ATOL, Honesty, Formalehyde, Sugar, = 4
ID - Forgiveness, LIAF, No Harm, OON, MO(ltd) = 4 (5)
Violence - Magazine, Cold, DATD, H(SL) = 4
NSBTW plus 2 or 3 of the new tunes on BG = 3 (4)Total = 26 (29)
Average setlist is about 21 to 23
You can see where this is going very quickly in terms of 'fan favourites' Though a lot of them are fan favourites (sorry Hannah) for the people that might only go to one gig.
A high percentage of the above have been in setlists at most gigs for years, or rotating in and out.
A compromise isn't going to be easy. The casual/waysider fans, which Sotired rightly points out, intentional or not the, is the target audience. But, in recent tours, the crowds are mostly long term go to a gig every tour type fans with a smattering of new ones dancing about for good measure.
But at the end of the day its a chance to see the band live which is what we all love.
So if we take Russell at his word, there is your setlist for this tour but maybe not.... answers on a postcard please
(additional thought - what makes a song a greatest hit? just because it had a single release? something that always gets a good reception at a gig? what they are most known for?)

Its certainly going to be tricky to whittle it down, I too dont know how they're going to define a 'greatest hit' - I think it'll be the singles (minus lesser know ones) but also popular tracks which havent been heard for a while. And of course Frankenstein, Black Gold and Upside Down. Let's carry on predicting what'll get played: BLOOD BULLETS MUNICH OPEN YOUR ARMS SMOKERS END HAS A START RACING RATS BONES PAPILLON YOU DONT KNOW LOVE EAT RAW MEAT LAST DAY TON OF LOVE SUGAR FORMALDEHYDE TWO HEARTED SPIDER NO HARM OCEAN OF NIGHT LIFE IS A FEAR OUR LOVE MAGAZINE COLD (ACOUSTIC) HALLELUJAH DARKNESS AT THE DOOR NO SOUND BUT THE WIND FRANKENSTEIN BLACK GOLD UPSIDE DOWN They're surely going to have to play a longer setlist what with 3 new songs aswell as 'greatest hits' - they have a lot of material now! I'm predicting a 28 song setlist (!) - they're not doing an extensive UK tour so maybe this is doable? Or am I just being hopeful

I'd say tracks like Bones, Last Day, You Don't Know Love, Honesty and NSBTW (outside Belgium) are less likely, but then who saw The Boxer coming last year? It's really hard to predict, we basically only know the real certainties:
Munich Smokers AEHAS The Racing Rats Papillon A Ton Of Love Sugar Magazine Frankenstein Black Gold
then I think the Very Likely ones would be:
Bullets All Sparks Ocean Of Night Violence (that's what I'd call a fan favourite and in interviews they've said they like playing it) No Harm Hallelujah
Upside Down maybe depends on what kind of song it is
that's 16 or 17 songs so they will play more but not sure how many more - the last shows of the Violence tour were 1h50 / 1h55 and that was 24 or 25 songs. Speaking of those shows, the full band version of Nothing was an awesome set closer so I'd love to hear that song again as well

Hi. I am from Argentina and I will be going to a couple of dates in Europe for this tour.
My plan is to attend the dates on Antwerp, Berlin, Rome, Milan, Madrid and Barcelona.
The problem is that for the date in Velodrom the tickets are only available through shipments (I dont know if for Sportaleis it will be similar). I know that the service offers shipments globally including my country, but I do not trust that it really arrives to me since it is very difficult bureaucratically here to receive packages from abroad without a tracking number and the cost of international shipping is very high. My idea then is to receive the tickets I need at my first stop, in Belgium. Therefore, I ask if anyone knows:
Do you know any lodging in Belgium that offers the service of receiving packages / tickets considering that it will be there for approximately 5 months (since this days September 2019 until I arrive January 2020)? Or is there any other way to buy my tickets online for Velodrom and / or Sportpaleis (if applicable) to make access easier?
With the dates on Rome and Milan I understand that presenting proof of purchase give me my tickets on the day of the event, and Madrid and Barcelona are based on online printing (which makes it easy for me to access).
I want to have all the best planned to not miss Editors in live, because they have never been able to come to South America in years!
Thanks, in advance!

Pre sale is today right? By 1pm uk time? Not had an email yet... On sale tomorrow morn but I also haven't had a code through yet, can anyone recall when we'd receive them by? Only a minor panic settling in... haha! NB: Would LOVE an acoustic of Let Your Good Heart Lead You Home at the shows, that would be something special.

Technically you could rent a letterbox at the post office but that would cost like €45 and I don’t even know if you can do that from abroad... other than that I can’t really think of other options of the top of my head, you could maybe ask the Antwerp Student Hostel www.ash-antwerp.com/long-term-stay/ (they also have long term stay options for exchange students so maybe they have experience with this) Or alternatively, if you want to be 100% sure it won’t get lost in some hostel or hotel (and you trust me) I’d be fine with receiving it at my address and then I can give it to you on the day of the Antwerp gig. It would be even better if you could find someone who lives in Germany and is going to the Berlin show, because I bet shipping will still be high for Belgium, but yeah For the Sportpaleis there will be an option to print tickets at home, so that’s easier
