I need to see an audience video from the end of Picturesque to see exactly how Tom ended up on his back haha
Looks like the festival massively messed up not putting them on the main stage from Twitter though 😬

So when the stages were announced (this must have been January / February as I briefly mentioned it to Hannah at the Troxy), it felt weird they were second stage.
Based on what I’ve seen / read, it looks like a two pronged problem. One is that the tent added to the intensity / experience, and made it better. (Glasto was the same, the tent was amazing, it would have lost something on one of the open stages.) But it also limited the numbers. So I guess the question is who chose the small(er) tent - the organisers or the band?
Also suggests they should *probably* play more shows in Belgium - it feels weird they do one big show, one festival show, a small radio / promo thing, and then that’s it for the cycle.

Still struggling to put into words how good this show was. I hadn't been there before but I read some comments that said the atmosphere is always amazing in that "tent" (honestly that's not a tent anymore, it's an arena) and yes, 100% true. Earlier during the day Bear's Den were already blown away by th size and response of the crowd, Tamino got a pretty insane applause (very much deserved holy fuck what a voice) and just before Editors the whole tent sang along to Don't You Want Me Baby by The Human League just because we could.
The crowd: crazy. Tom: crazy. Both from the beginning. Couldn't believe my eaers first when I heard Violence, wasn't expecting it, then couldn't believe my eyes when Tom almost went full Matt Berninger, I'm here for it. Also, 13 years after the hype: loudest NSBTW singalong ever. It's our national anthem now, sorry i don't make the rules.
Ok, enough incoherent rambling I think. Best Editors festival show ever.
About the tent-being-too-small situation... I also feel very sorry for everyone who couldn't get in but then everyone could have predicted this scenario. You know the doors close when The Barn is full, you know Editors are popular. It was super risky to wait until after ben Howard to try and get in. Judging from Elliott's retweets and what Tom said in an interview for the TV coverage (I'll send it to Lemming, something like "we'll play where they want us to") I don't think it was the band that chose the tent. Hopefully the response to this show (only saw 4 and 5 star reviews) means they can headline the mainstage again in 2 years or so because they deserve it but yes it will be hard to beat the atmosphere of The Barn.

What an insane show this was! Right upfront and the atmosphere was crazy, watched NSBTW back like 10 times now and I get goosebumps everytime.
