Those new tracks sound really good on first listen. It all bodes very well for the new album.

I feel like they're actively trying to get rid of me sometimes, but I'm still here. Rusted on for life, for better or worse. The new songs are really good. My biggest fear with BM joining was the songs would become really messy and over-arranged, but I'm thrilled to say that hasn't been the case so far. They've struck a really nice balance between Editors classic songwriting and BM's crazy electronic circus and I hope that holds for the entirety of the record. this was my fear too - especially with blanck mass sessions (which were quite good in their own right but still felt cluttered at times. but these new songs holy moly getting super early editors vibes from these underneath all the electronic sound.. kiss had me thinking of banging heads, interesting how iām still able to draw a line from then to now. after all these years and thereās still the āeditorsā feel
This is what they sound like now, but what will happen once Ben joins the band on stage? What addition layer will he add?

Hearing these new songs for the first time yesterday truely sparked some magic. It reminded me of my very first Editors gig at Rock Werchter 2012. Can't believe that's 10 years ago already. Back then they played Sugar and Two-Hearted Spider for the first time ever. There's really something very special in realizing that you are among the first to hear new songs. But this time the band chose a really small and quite less known festival in Hellendoorn, The Netherlands out of all places, for their try-outs. Although the show did not feel like a try-out at all. They were killing it! I've been re-watching my recordings of Karma Climb and Kiss (see previous page) over and over again, and the new songs are already growing on me. It's this crazy moment again where we know a new Editors album is around the corner, but we don't know when or what's on it. The only way to really feed your fan-hunger is by watching the live videos of the new stuff over and over again. I remember I've been doing this ever since some fan-made recordings of Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool appeared on YouTube weeks before ITLAOTE was out. I re-watched those Werchter 2012 videos over and over long before The Weight of Your Love was a thing. And I searched desperately for live footage of Life is A Fear and Violence before those albums got out. I could only fantasize about how it would sound on the album. And now we're there again. New songs, new live stuff! And even though I had the honor in hearing the live debuts, it's probably just as special as hearing the new songs at any other time before they are officially released. I whish everybody that is going to any of their upcoming gigs an absolute blast and I hope the band blows you away just as they did with me. And be prepared for the new stuff. I hope you feel that magic as well

heart attack sounded pretty similar to the studio version so maybe his parts are already there just in a backing track? just a guess i could be wrong

20 songs today!!! what a set! still i miss ocean. axe smokers, add ocean and ill be so happy I saw that setlist on the setlist.fm website. I'd be very pleased if we get that in Birmingham next Sunday though I doubt they'll do No Sound But The Wind. It's a good mix of material from throughout their career. The one previous setlist regular which I'm disappointed they've dropped is A Ton Of Love as that would definitely be in my all time Editors Top 10. I'm really excited to hear the new material live. Heart Attack is already an instant classic and Kiss sounds superb from the YouTube videos. Karma Climb reminds me a bit more of earlier era Editors.

Quote'Rock Werchter 2012. Can't believe that's 10 years ago already. Back then they played Sugar and Two-Hearted Spider for the first time ever.' Two hearted spider was already played live in 2010 and 2011 with Chris still on board. Far more electronic version with a killer guitar riff , very different to the TWotw version. Karma climb reminds me a bit of that early version (guitar riff and the sequencer electronics) .Really like it. Kiss also brings a bit vague memories of Itlaoe :reminds me of the big exit. The length of the Kiss is far too long imho. Seeing them next Friday.

Hello from somewhere in Germany on a train to Paris! The past 2 days were absolutely crazy for a number of reasons but first of all yes the new songs are SO FUCKING GOOD and discovering them live was just magical. Witnessing a live premiere of a new song was like one of the last Editors related ādreamsā I had and for some reason I wasnāt expecting that to happen twice on Friday I donāt know if the roadies hung a setlist on an amp where we could all see it on purpose when they were setting up the stage but in any case thank you very much for the much needed warning!! Karma Climb is my favourite atm, it gives me massive old Editors combined with new Editors vibes. But Kiss is also a bop. Also so happy they played The Phone Book with the electric guitar part, so so beautiful. And Marching Orders yesterday. And Bones. And oh my god, have you all heard what they did with NSBTW? Itās perfect. I canāt wait to hear that at Hear Hear in Belgium in August with everyone singing along (Dauwpop did an okay effort, Hamburg stayed silent) Yesterday (and today, Iām glad I left) in Hamburg the weather was horrible, cold, windy and lots of rain, which made queuing No Fun (idk why we do it honestly why canāt we all agree to show up 15 minutes before the doors open?) It also rained during the gig (and Tom seriously sang āI donāt think that itās gonna rain again todayāā¦ā¦when it was fucking raining lol) but that didnāt matter at all. It was perfect. Everything was perfect ā¤ļø Oh btw the shows in Belgium and The Netherlands will be this autumn as well, Dutch one to be announced very soon (after Vestrock I guess) and the Belgium one after Hear Hear. (Danke schƶn for the info Elliott) Canāt wait for Vestrock next week! If Iām still alive by then that is because Iām on my way to Paris to see The National twice too aldjsksjsskfodjdnslsl

The new set bores the hell out of me. Same old predictable editors. They're becoming the next Depeche mode. Electronic, big abroad and stale in the UK. And the same old sets year after year.
Me and my friend played a game where he had to guess each track played from each album and he got them all right bar one or two. That's how bad it's getting.
Drop Blood, Munich, Bullets, AEHAS, Racing Rats, Smokers etc.
Ecstatic to see Formaldehyde and Ton of Love dropped however.
Time to move on from the songs of the old lineup bar a couple of treats and time to move on, except for ITLAOTE as it fits with their later work so well.
Let's face it. Anyone going to an Editors gig nowadays isn't going to hear the hits. We're all die hards, and there's only so much of so many songs we (or I) can take.
Still. Can't wait for Sunday.

We're all die hards, and there's only so much of so many songs we (or I) can take. we're literally less than 1% of the crowd, and this is even a festival tour. the other 99% wants to hear the hits. the UK crowds especially fucking love the old singles, at least they did when I saw them there. not playing Smokers or Munich there would be so strange.

As a UKer I am ok with a lot of the songs mentioned above being dropped or rotated and sometimes wish they wouldnt change things up when they tour here, not going to mention LT again but yeah... I feel that this 'ukishness' is a bit of a myth, as is the exidous of long term fans.
I would embrace the strangeness if there was any around. I even said a few weeks ago on the very forum about moving forward and dropping or rotaing a bunch of the setlist locks. But what do i know.
