i'm just gonna say there's no way that no sound but the wind is anything other than a reworking of the old song for it to be a completely new song with the same title as one of their old songs would be rather nonsensical and kind of lame Yes it would appear so. Still bewildered at this. If I hadn't seen that tracklist photo at start of recording i'd be assuming they ran out of songs and needed some filler. So there is twilight version that got a good hit of commercial success on the back of the soundtrack. Then a full band version released, live versions played, both piano and another incarnation (better) of full band, and now another offering - piano led and finally putting the song to bed (paraphrase from NME interview). Strewth. I would have thought its well and truly been put to bed prior to this. Any chance of putting Nothing to bed with a full band version?

If anyone's interested, there's a lossless version of Magazine on sale at Qobuz - and it's cheaper than the lossy iTunes version (talk about value, eh?).

One more single right before the album release would be a smart move, because by then the hype from Magazine (if there is any) is bound to die down. It has incredibly little views on YouTube, this video. Well, comparing like for like, it's had the same number of views as The Vaccines' new single has in a week. Ok, The Vaccines isn't a proper video, but they're arguably a more popular, newer band.

The reactions on social media are also really positive, and I have the feeling there's a lot more buzz than there was with Life Is A Fear

It got me interested in search results (you can debate if its a good way for measuring popularity but still it provides some insight) but got dissapointed in the results. Graph in spoiler. Yellow is TBR Green is AEHAS Purple is ITLAOTE Red is ID Blue is VI (altough you can't really see it yet) Google trends btw (some reading guidance: the scale is % of popularity. 100% is peak popularity. If a line is at 50% its half as popular as the peak)

No idea what the reason is, is Google dying? haha

Magazine has really grown on me (courtesy of many listens since it came out) but I just can't get enough of the chorus and its one-two chords - so powerful. Lossless is the only way to listen to this, does it proper justice.

Anyway I spend the € 0,99 too. I won't share it publicly but if anyone who's buying the cd wants a listen..
