Alright, at the risk of sounding like a cynical old man (altough I'm 27 and happy about life) here goes. I'm getting more and more irritated by people not being decent at concerts. And I want to know if this is me, or that there are some unwritten rules that people tend to break.
1) Want to get up front? Be early. This I see so much, that people just bounce their way up to a good spot, despite the people who actually waited for an opportunity to get close. Of course there can be a bit of a shuffle, but you shouldn't move like 20 meters to the front if there are already a lot of people there.
2) About holding your hands above your head... When clapping: sure When the artist indicates it: yeah! When taking a photo every once in awhile: yeah, alright, just be quick about it. Every time a band member looks your way: there are people behind and next to you, you know? Every fucking chorus: please don't.
3) About sitting down... Sure, just stand up when the support begins. Its alright to sit back down in between support and main act.
4) Singing along Sure, go ahead, enjoy yourself. Just don't try to produce more volume than the lead singer. Chances are you're a less singer than the bands'. Except when you're at a Snow Patrol concert. Then sing your heartout because you're most surely a better performer than that band.
5) About recording/taking pictures Of course you want to make that shot or record that song. Go do that. But remember. Your screen is bright, the room is dark. That can be annoying so lower your brightness as much as possible. Don't ever flash. And if you want to raise your device to make a better shot, just remember rule 2.
Well yeah that is the most important stuff anyway I think. Does this make me a bigot?

And when people are talking during an acoustic song or live...I become a serial killer!
