Interesting we don't have a Coldplay thread given our admin is a regular on their board. Anyway they have a new album called A Head Full of Dreams which is probably going to come out early next year. They've played a new song called Amazing Day at the Global Citizen fest and it's ok imo.

That's all just speculation though, nothing's backed up with concrete evidence as of yet.

I'm not as much of a Coldplay fan as I was 3 years ago but they were the first band I started listening to so they'll always have a special place in my heart and I'm curious what the new album is going to sound like! The new song is okay indeed but it's nothing too special either imo. The bass and the guitar make it good. And yeah it could be a track they wrote for Global Citizen because it sounds a lot like their previous record and they wouldn't make the same album twice.

Wow, the new song is bad. Can't say I'm surprised though.

I don't like the new song, the production is totally mainstream....... Coldplay become more and more poppy (but not the good side of pop), finally ocean of night is not so coldplayesque!

I like it. Didn't at first, but after a few listens I suddenly got it. It's just a happy pop song, not memorable or anything but that doesn't matter. They keep changing their sound and I love that. Just wish Chris would stop woohoooing ._.

I'm genuinely scared to hear Hymn For The Weekend.
And also a bit intrigued. A little bit.

Album has leaked. They say if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all. And I like Coldplay.

Fyi, dismissing disappointed fans as "haters" won't do much to help your case.

I'm not going to listen to the leak but my expectations are already pretty low so I don't think I'll be too disappointed.
That new music video though.... I have no words.

I agree I see ocean of night sits more with the direction Arcade Fire took on Reflektor. All the Kings on the other hand.....
