Just had a message from Ticketmaster saying it is postponed rather than cancelled. I would imagine if tomorrow’s gig at Barrowlands is postponed as well then they are more likely to reschedule both rather than just one. Anyway, I’m going to head back to my hotel for an hour or so and try to find a decent indie club to go to later. I guess these are the pitfalls of being on tour. Unless that’s just so they can avoid refunds. *apologies for cynicism* Hope it doesn’t impact on the rest of the tour and you end up having a decent night! Much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the Brighton gig. I’ve only been to the Dome when they were touring WOYL in 2013. It’s a great town and should be a highlight of the 2nd leg of the British tour.

I was thinking did they drop certain tracks because of Toms cold? Welcome back Gary! and whoever mentioned the band playing Bones I totally agree! That was an epic track live!
Never been away Danny, just dont have a million things to say

Gee the boxer is timeless IMO, Its a track I would never tire of, it really evokes emotion for me and is among their best work. Glad to see its opening the Uk sets, enjoy those that can!

I can’t see the Aberdeen gig being rescheduled as a one-off gig. Will wait and see what happens with that. I’m really up for tonight’s gig.

So at the Glasgow gig another couple of odd removals from the set.
Cold returned to the set however Belong was dropped once again and oddly enough No Harm was dropped! Bizzare considering the amount of effort that must have gone into blending the outro of Violence into No Harm.
They weren't even on the setlist.
Not feeling very optimistic about the Birmingham gig. Hopefully they pull out all of the stops for their homecoming gig.
I always feel slightly hard done to if you go to a gig and get short changed by not getting the full that they played earlier in the tour. Why should we pay the same amount for 2 songs less? Might be petty but why should the Southampton and Bristol fans get it and the rest not?

I think No Harm was dropped because Tom still wasn't feeling 100% and with there being such a vocal range in that song they might have been worried his voice would go again.

If a band have decided that certain songs aren’t working early on in the tour or if illness is a factor then I’d rather it be dropped from a set than laboured on begrudgingly. When I’m there enjoying song after song I’m not sulking because they didn’t play a song that they played a week ago to a load of different people in a place miles away I’m just thinking “love this one” and singing away grinning at Russ’s crazy moves or whatever and enjoying the show.

I think it’s fairly obvious that No Harm and Belong weren’t there because they’re hard on the voice. No way they’d just let that Violence-No Harm transition die like this without a reason right?

Of course! It seems rather obvious to me that it was dropped because of Tom's cold, try to sing falsetto with a messed up voice...

I think the set changes were clearly to help manage Tom’s voice and not do any damage. Other than that you really wouldn’t have known Tom hadn’t been well.
Great show last night and the crowd were really up for it. I’m sure they’ll bring stuff like No Harm back into the set by the end of the week.

I think the whole saga surrounding the cancellation and Tom’s illness shows another side to Editors’ professionalism as a band and live act. There is a point where a “band” become “entertainers”, especially with someone of Tom’s visual magnetism, and the way Editors have handled this is superb. Having been in bands before, the decision to drop material, especially some of your best (as the segue from Violence to No Harm/the haunting version of Belong is IMO), is hard to take. However, if this facilitates the show to carry on and still be of considerable quality than it is of benefit to the paying crowd, the band, the venue, promoter etc and Editors clearly know this. They also know the negative aspect of pushing someone’s abilities to the limit when not fully fit - which can be hard to maintain when there is money involved (booking of band, paying ticket holders, venue staffing, crew).
I went to the Bristol show and wrote about how amazing it was on this forum and also purchased a ticket for the Brighton show. Yes, I hope a “full” set returns but in no way will I be disappointed if a few songs are dropped.

I love Editors I really do, and I'm happy they have shook things up slightly setlist wise. But moaners gonna moan... Nine Inch Nails have now played 52 different tracks in their first 15 shows of their most recent tour. 52! Editors on the other hand have played 31 all tour across 71 shows. The National. 70 (SEVENTY) different tracks across 104 shows on their current tour. I wish Editors would change the set every night. Different openers, different encores, swap out 2-3 different tracks every single night. I spoil it for myself by looking at their sets every night, but if you want to attend 2-3 shows on the tour you want to be seeing different songs each night surely.
