Don’t expect any changes, those kind of tours died years ago. Fair play they have mixed it up a bit though. Looking forward to the dates I am doing.

I don't even want change, The Boxer and Fall! when did they last play those, 2010? Before I (and I can imagine quite a lot of people) saw them live for the first time anyway
it's true they're quite old but they're still playing almost all of Violence

I don’t remember them playing Boxer or Fall since the ITLAOTE tour and even then they weren’t regulars in the set. I thought the set had a good mix of new and older material. There didn’t seem to be any points in the set where the crowd felt flat at all which was especially good for a Sunday night gig.
It seemed to be quite an older crowd there last night. I’m in my mid 30s but was probably one of the younger people there. They seemed to have lost the dickhead element of the crowd who seemed to be about a few years ago and seemed more interested in chucking beer about and barging to the front when they played Munich. Generally a really good crowd and atmosphere.
Also nice to hear a remix version of Our Love as the intro music last night.
Looking forward to going to Bristol later. Shame they’re not playing at Colston Hall as both gigs i’ve seen them do there have been great but interested to see what the Marble Factory will be like.

As a Dutch fan it feels really strange to me; playing Papillon not even as main set closer, ditching Marching Orders, and ending with Munich. I know UK fans are really into the back room, but Papillon/Marching Orders/Magazine are massive songs that really increase the energy levels of a show. I don't think that ending on RR/Smokers/Munich would lead to the same "euphoria" (in Europe).

There’s one more thing I need to know, did they still blast Gimme Gimme Gimme before the show?

Yeah another thing which seems a bit off is the setlist, it does have that element of being a bit muddled. I don't see the boxer being an opener and it lacks that element of a kick to start the gig though they may have changed bits of it as editors mk.2. And I can't imagine Munich being a closer. I know they tried that at the end of the festival season and then I thought "how the hell can they close with Munich?!" I am of course willing to be proved wrong when I see them tonight - is it doors at 7.30, Talos at 8, editors at 9?

I love that they have put the old tracks in to mix things up, but you're right, I'd much rather them mix things up with newer material. Would love to hear Our Love, All The Kings, Two Hearted Spider, Like Treasure...
What I am pissed off about is the stage design, I can't believe Europe were treat to those great big hexagonal towers and now all we have is an album cover as the backdrop. With the money they must rake in surely they can afford to give their loyal UK fans a better spectacle. It really does make a huge difference for the fans experiences. Any other band of a similar size would be using screens or anything other than a giant quilt!

I suppose the 3 tracks they’re finishing off with now are their 3 best known tracks over here so it works well with most of the crowd.

Not sure what time doors open tonight but half 7 would be about right.

In terms of a the back drop, no idea but were the venues generally much bigger for the European gigs? I think the Guildhall was about 1700 capacity last night but it is a big stage. I think ones like Aberdeen are smaller though so maybe why they’ve gone for something simpler.

Smaller venues has 2 or 3 towers while the bigger stages had 4-5! I'm due to see them in Birmingham, that should be big enough to cater. Haven't seen them have an impressive stage since ITLAOTE, at least have some bloody oversized glow sticks at the back or something!

I still miss the flames they had at Brixton Academy during Papillon in about 2010. That was pretty cool.
