As long as Editors do not become Coldplayish, fine. This song approximates the two bands in a scary way. Editors may have done some "mainstream" songs (i.e. Papillon) but they always kept that rocky-Editors vibe that differed from ordinary bands, such as Coldplay in their new album. Midnight is a non powerful song, which sounds a bit over produced. While, for example, the album versions of Like Treasure, The Big Exit or Walk The Fleet Road feel more industrial, rawer and are also heavily atmospherically sithethyzed. That´s one of the reasons Editors are such a good band. They do whatever they want and they do it right. Of course there´s no more Chris, yet TWOYL wasn´t bad at all, yet clearly overproduced. But live, nothing but magnificent. I´m afraid this changes...Hopefully not.
As you say, Feak, another band would have made a rather worse tune. But what really stands out in this one is Smith´s vocals, unfortunately nothing else...

If I had to choose my favourite album, I would have to say In This Light and on This Evening - purely because of that raw sound they achieve in some of the songs. I really hope that they do not overproduce E5, as I fear they might.

I really love this song (big synthesizer fan). Tom's vocals sound amazing. I'm quiet suprised they released this track (it's not really radio friendly).

I dunno - I think No Harm is great! I'm hearing King of Limbs similarities more than anything but with that Editors style incorporated throughout, dark and tension building.
Of course we also have to hear this in context with the rest of the album before we (or me at least) can fully develop our opinions.

If you look closely on the lyrics´ Instagram image you´ll see The Law´s (I think) lyrics as well, written in the turned page.
The title is "The L..."

Erik, you are a master!!!
I was going to ask, if anyone has checked the pre-track-thing on the pias sampler. But luckily you just did find it!!!
The track is definitely no single but I can imagine it as a beautiful album track as a link between other big tunes. I pretty much like the sounddesign of it. I'm so curious how the rest will turn out.

I've been attempting to try and clear up the image to make the lyrics of 'The Law' legible. Some words are easily made out, whereas some are almost completely unreadable.

Yeah, that´s right. I tried to adjust brightness and other settings on Picasa, but the result was fairly the same. Furthermore the lyrics are "cut in half" so it´s even harder to decipher the words!
