The pulse should have been kept, I think it is the best song in Violence, Bricks and Mortar, Nothing and All the Kings should be played too. Some songs should really be given a break (even if they're jst playing UK shows which are a bit more demanding regarding the early material). If they don't play it often or not at all one tour when they play it on the next one it will make a lot more sense. Like this shows have become predictable and at times boring. AEHAS should be dropped, the acoustic song should be a special one and not some we've heard countless times, Formaldehyde, Marching Orders, No Harm and ERM=BD too. They could rotate some, it's true, but they should also give us nice surprises. Tom has always said his favourite Editors song is Let Your Good Heart Lead You Home and I think it would fit in well in the setlist. The Big Exit would be great to hear sometimes too. Fall is a classic they never play and Fingers is one of their greatest songs. Asking for When Anger Shows would be a bit too much, I know, but if they play this or other rarity or b-side, that is, a single song in the midts of other twenty, it wouldn't ruin the gig for the fans wanting to hear the hits and it would really improve the experience for more hardcore fans. They COULD do all of these things, but please don't say that they SHOULD. The band can do whatever the fuck they want.

Colint, I'm sorry my message was not clear. Just for context: I'm one of those early fans, you know. I was very skeptical and critical of In Dream at first but it grew on me and I learned to appreciate it. Even though I don't like Editors as much as before, and even though Violence is not my kind of music I still give a ton of credit to their songwriting ability, even though the direction and production have left me a bit unsatisfied. One of the things I like more about them is that they do whatever they want, that's the thing I admire the most about musicians. Take Tom Waits, my favorite musician, he's a great example. when I said should I meant it as a good idea that could please both parties, old and new. Of course I want them to play what they like, but the songs I mentioned are so good and still appreciated by so many people that I think these "predictable" setlists could easily be avoided. But what do I know? Lockey and Elliot would have to work on most of them so I see why they keep playing the same things over and over again. I'm happy that at least the songs they play are all good. Clarification of terms is important, I want you to see my point as a suggestion, not a condemnation. Deep down I believe they would like to play some rarities, but practical constraints plus "the will of the fans" makes it a bit difficult especially now that they've changed direction into a more pop-electronic one and want to keep that going successfully. I hope it is clear now. All the best!

Yes, i can understand your point...especially regarding Depeche. Depeche is now playing only 2 songs from the last record, it is only a greatest hits tour. The problem is, after 6 records you have a number of tracks you have to play (Munich, Smokers....) and the space to include other songs is getting smaller every tour. I would love to hear Camera, Fall, Escape the nest, The Boxer and so on, but you can never please everybody. Would looove to hear The Boxer or Camera, nice choices... I always had a soft spot for Colours, lyrically and memories, and LYGHLYH but sadly haven't got to see them enough to know if it's been played more in the past!

So Belong has been added to the set (not really a surprise considering its been on all the previous setlists but not played.
Cold and Magazine have been moved into the encore and Racing Rats has been moved to the main set.
Would be nice if they switched Belong and Counting Spooks up from night to night but I don't think they'll be playing CS based on previous interviews.
NSBTW also made its tour debut last night at Antwerp with Smokers being dropped.

Well, 4 shows done, and 4 times the exact same setlist...is it that hard to just rotate 1 or 2 songs each night?

I wasn't there, but I'm going to see them in Cologne this Sunday and in Amsterdam on Tuesday and it would be nice to just have at least 1 different song on the setlist.

Though I really enjoyed the three shows I saw a couple of weeks back I can understand why some people are a bit fed up with parts of the setlist. There are certain tracks like Racing Rats and AEHAS which I personally wouldn’t be bothered about if they were dropped from the setlist. Really good songs but I have heard them live so many times.
I remember when they were touring ITLAOTE they had a standard set but then each night they would play about 3 from a choice of maybe 7 or 8 tracks and rotate them from night to night. If you were seeing a few dates on the tour that made things a bit more interesting in terms of not knowing exactly what they were going to play. It would be good if they mix it up slightly when I go to the British dates later in the year. When they toured TWOYL and In Dream they did vary the sets very slightly throughout the tour so I’m sure that will happen at some point with the Violence tour.

I'm not sure the last time I saw Editors play the exact same set of songs twice in a row when I've seen them. Maybe it hasn't even happened.
The band changes setlists sometimes in the middle of a tour. (In 2013, they came to the UK after Europe and played the first show with the European setlist which went down like a lead balloon. Aaah Margate, I love you. Not Editors' finest hour though.)
Songs get skipped because of technical problems. (See London, and also London.)
They always play NSBTW in Belgium. (See Belgium.)
Shows mix up a little between albums / tours anyway.
If you really have a problem with "the same setlist", maybe Editors aren't the band for you, or you should try going less. I think Editors should mix *something* up at every show, but it's not as easy as just saying it.

I completely understand where everyone is coming from, but as an American fan who doesn't get the luxury of seeing their shows four times in a row (calm down, Jealousy!) I like that there's a relatively predictable set list that I can envision and get excited about. Anyway it helps you know what you're getting into? Also I just don't know how realistic it would be to expect a lot of songs that they wrote 13 or so years ago. People grow, bands grow. I get nostalgic about other bands and wish I could hear first album songs played live too, but I can understand bands move on, and want to concentrate on things they've worked on more recently. It might have more meaning for them now. Anyway. I don't know what I'm trying to say really. I just know that the very scant amount of opportunities I get to see Editors play live means that I'm going to be thrilled with whatever they play. 😋🖤

I’m just hoping for counting spooks to be on the setlistin October, can’t understand why it’s the only one from Violence that’s not been played yet the outro is the most disco like thing they’ve done.
