Let's face it TWOYL was written twice and having a guess an album which the band may either hate or love due to bad memories or over thinking and rewriting the tracks? In Dream I think as a whole is the best album to date, I still never get bored of it and there's only one track I am not too keen on. I think this new album from what I have heard is very electronic/house and I feel it will "thank god" be different again. I love how they change the sound, the core ideas are the same but the sounds and feelings are different and long may it continue.

Update time! Rai Radio 2 just broadcast an interview with Tom and Russell recorded at Primo Maggio and there was a lot of info. My laptop crashed halfway through the interview but here are the main points: • Editors 6 is almost finished (it will be finished this year). Alan Moulder is mixing it over the summer. • They've done the bulk of the recording themselves and Blanck Mass of Fuck Buttons did some additional production on some of the tracks • Sonically it's a continuation from In Dream edit: my laptop has resurrected and I recovered most of my recording. The last question is missing, and also the question about the collaborations but it was basically "how do you feel about collaborations" or something like that. Look out for the beautiful shade Tom throws at The Chainsmokers/Coldplay. I can only agree lol download link: www.mediafire.com/file/cazside9uwddk8l/rai_interview.mp3edit 2: here's the full interview, there were actually 2 questions missing www.mediafire.com/?slgyrx0crdi23e1

First single they can put even in June! Mixing-mastering 2 months...

So there'll probably be some more aggro and more uptempo tracks on this one, it won't be as dreamy as In Dream - hoping for something dirtier (been obsessed with A Thousand Of Lovers lately).

Great interview. Thanks for tracking this one down. Intrigued to hear what the Blanck Mass collaborations sound like. His stuff is quite frenetic, but has a rough edge too, so can imagine it suiting Editors' sound.

I love how they change the sound, the core ideas are the same but the sounds and feelings are different and long may it continue. Respectfully disagree with best album to date, but this band has personally given me so much enjoyment I'm pleased that the new material is hitting the right spot for some fans, and look forward to A6. I like In dream but for me the first 3 were almost faultless. A2 loved at the time, but hasn't aged as well for me now, moreso that I'm far more likely to reminisce when it suits with A1 or A3. For me the creative influence Chris had (with hindsight) is a stand out with the first 3. Its hard to know what happened but from what I read he seemed uncompromising on creative direction (or lack of ideas if you take the band version) and it may be entirely possible if he remained we would still be talking A4 and understand the pain of TOOL fans, of which I am also. So don't love A4-A5 but can live with it and think these guys need to be still heard - amazing talent. Am glad it seems with A6 they are taking some time to get it right and looking forward to hearing.

Something to look forward to for early next year then. I would guess at a tour sometime in spring once it has been released.

If the album is released in January then I would assume that we'll get one or two songs before the end of the year. I suppose it just depends how far on they are with some of the tracks at the moment.
