Hi all, just bumping an old thread to say hello! I'm a newish Editors fan from the UK. I'd listened to bits of their work on and off since the first album, then listened "properly" over lockdown and got fully obsessed. Countless hours poring over Airborne Lemming's channel later, and they're one of my all-time favourite bands! My other faves include Depeche Mode and Rammstein, so EBM couldn't be any more up my street

Hello! Kevin from the US Midwest. Here is my unsolicited personal relationship with each album:
Back Room - Didn't listen when it came out, but I certainly did catch up.
End Has a Start - Was high as a kite doing an ecology homework assignment near the Canadian border in the middle of winter and found the title track on iTunes. Was hooked after that and checked out the previous release.
In This Light - Loved it, but the lyrical subplot involving spies was confusing and I took too much stock in it getting pulverized by critical voices. Caught them on tour in Chicago though and wasn't disappointed in the least.
The Weight of Your Love - Ran a half marathon to a reworked version of this album and it remains a personal favorite, even though at the time it was a confusing move. There are so many gems on here if people get past that.
In Dream - This one was training for the full marathon, in grad school, up at lonely hours. Probably my favorite release of theirs, just for the emotional attachment it still holds. Ocean of Night is the best song they've ever released, in my humble opinion,
Violence - Took me a sec to get used to production-wise, but the passionate live-renditions sold me. Their most consistent since Back Room.
EBM - Did not like at first, now kinda feeling like it's the in the top two or three. Brought some much needed energy/tempo to the songs, somewhat sacrificing the sonic diversity of Violence, but end-to-back being a much quicker and satisfying listen. Excited to hopefully catch these guys in Europe somewhere in the next few months.

Hi there!
My name is Jehanne, I'm 26 and I'm from France. It's been a while since I haven't signed up to a band forum, I feel like 16 again!
I discovered Editors quite recently, 7 years ago actually, through my flatmate at the time. Her favourite album is An End Has A Start so it's the first one I've listened to and I loved it immediately. So, like the totally obsessive kind of person I am, I then listened to all of them and Editors became one of my all-time favourite bands. Others includes Depeche Mode, Placebo, old Muse… etc
I only saw the band live once before as I'm affected by a weird curse making them play in cities I've lived in and don't anymore… but I'm seeing them in Paris this Saturday and I'm overexcited as I absolutely loved EBM. I can't wait to see them live again and I hope to meet some of you there too!

Hello, nice to meet you. I am conducting a social research about the role of being a fan in everyday life and the relationship between an individual and a fandom community, how music can transform people and their experiences and develop a sense of belonging and identity. So I am focusing on Editors fans and it'd be really nice to have a broader sample with international fans. Could you help me answering some questions? The form seems quite long but it actually takes like 15 minutes, even less (I checked with my friends ) and you can answer in English, French, Spanish and Italian if it helps you, we can understand! There's totally respect for the privacy as there's no need to put your real name or other personal data except age and country for statistical issues. Let me know if it's okay to post the link to the Google form or create a specific thread, if it's not I totally get it! It could also really help if you know any article/interview where there's a specific part about the fandom. Google is not always helpful when you are researching.
